We are an IRS approved 501c3, nonprofit. Our mission is to educate and improve animal care and control practices in our local community. We empower shelters that do intake by fostering high-risk cases, and we rescue horses that are in need of a forever home after years of work.

****We do not have surgery options due to no contract with a low-cost provider as of January 1st, 2026. We encourage you to contact Public Vet at Pub.Vet to find clinics in the area that can assist you. We have coordinated a clinic with PubVet on April 1st in DeKalb County that will take 115 cats.
We will continue our mission to support area shelters with mom-and-puppy foster needs (see the Puppy B&B tab) and to save retired workhorses (see the Galloping Grove tab). ***
Our history and operations:
💚 Volunteer-operated 501c3, with just two volunteers.
💚We don't get paid. We, in fact, invest thousands of our own dollars to help our community. Any funds that our County Commissioners contribute go directly to the surgery facilities we use, not to us in any way.
💚Operational unincorporated DeKalb County
💚 We are an agency that coordinates surgery for around 300 to 400 cats a year for our community at zero to low cost from 2023, 2024, and 2025. That part of our mission will end in April 2026 due to a lack of a low-cost provider. We have a clinic with Pub Vet on April 1st, 2026.
💚We are fosters for local high intake shelters in our state
💚We take in retired workhorses to live out forever happily, many of them from Mackinac Island.
Things we are NOT:
🚨We are not animal control, and an intake or adoption facility
🚨We are not able to help every County and Community outside of unincorporated DeKalb County, and we are unable to help certain incorporations and cities due to their own ordinance and government.
🚨We are not affiliated with any other animal groups in DeKalb County, so please don't trust information others would share about us; come directly to the source.
🚨We are not able to come to your property and personally trap and handle your animals for you.
🚨We are not magic and are not able to undo years of choices and cat breeding in one day, or one season.
